Beginners 2 Pass Criteria

• Handler is able to get and hold dog‘s attention.

  Handler understands how to use clicker or marker word and how to get the timing right‘ when rewarding their dog.

  Handler understands how to play with their dog as a reward using toy and/or body.

  3 step heeling without losing attention and without luring Sit – at left side, no luring, and working towards automatic Drop – at left side with no luring.

  
  Stand – at left side with no luring.

  Stand stay (10 sec) at left side with no lure (no return) 15 second sit stay.

  20 second down stay.

  Formal recall – dog will sit and wait, sit in front position, and hold for return.

  Turns – handler knows how to execute left, right, left-about, and right-about turns in traditional style and can do so with a loose lead

  Reinforcement with food, play, praise to be encouraged.
